Velocar VRS-EVO-T12-5-RS4

Radar and red-light enforcement

Velocar VRS-EVO-T12-5-RS4

Three lanes, two traffic lights and a single device, with evidence that stands up to representations and appeals.

Type-approved in Spain · CEM25000969 · Ministry of Industry and Tourism

3

lanes

Opposite direction of travel included.

2

traffic lights

Handled independently.

1

device

Fewer posts, less roadworks, less maintenance.

In service

How the device works at a real junction

Detection, capture of the photographic evidence and delivery to the management platform, in a single cycle and with no server in between.

What it captures

Every offence is documented with seven pieces of photographic evidence

Three high-resolution black-and-white images for OCR verification, three colour images for the context and the identification of the vehicle, and an H.264 video recorded before and after the event.

In multi-lane traffic the system automatically highlights the offending vehicle against the rest, so whoever handles the case does not have to work it out.

Black-and-white images

High resolution, aimed at OCR verification.

×3

Colour images

Context of the road and identification of the vehicle.

H.264

Colour video

Recorded before and after the event.

AUTO

Offender highlighted

The vehicle is identified automatically in multi-lane traffic.

Integrity of the evidence

Solid case files, with fewer representations and appeals

The real risk with an enforcement device is not its price: it is that the evidence does not hold. The VRS-EVO-T12-5-RS4 handles every detection so that the case file stands up to representations and appeals, which fall away as the evidence proves solid.

01

Digital signature

Each piece of evidence is signed at source, so any later tampering can be detected.

02

Timestamp to the millisecond

Local time and UTC, precise enough to establish the exact instant a light was run.

03

UUID per event

A unique identifier that traces the offence from capture through to the case file.

04

AES encryption

The evidence travels encrypted from the device to the management platform.

Sensor fusion

If the speed-measuring device is out of line with the camera, it stops sending offences

The radar is physically anchored to the optical block. When the system detects movement or misalignment, it stops issuing offences rather than carrying on producing doubtful records.

  • 24 GHz 4D radar, not estimation from the image
  • Filters that discard faulty data before it is recorded
  • Inclinometer, accelerometer and temperature and humidity sensors
  • Vibration immunity certified to EN 60068-2-64

Technology

Radar and vision working on the same axis

24 GHz 4D radar

Speed measured directly by a non-invasive sensor, not estimated from the image.

12.3 and 5.0 megapixel cameras

Monochrome for the reading and colour for the context, with two independent infrared illuminators.

OCR certified to UNI 10772:2016 class A

100% reading up to 230 km/h, across more than 300 makes and 2,400 models.

Average speed with no central server

The calculation is resolved between cameras, with no extra infrastructure to install and maintain.

RoHS Certification

RoHS = Restriction of Hazardous Substances.

Redesigned internal electronics, drawing 40% less power than the previous generation.

Privacy and GDPR

Only what the case file needs is kept

The device automatically masks plates and faces not involved in the offence, and encrypts the information from the moment of capture.

Automatic masking

Of plates and people unconnected with the reported event.

AES encryption

Applied to the evidence at source and in transit.

Frequently asked questions

What we are usually asked

Is the Velocar VRS-EVO an expensive device?

It is not the cheapest on the market, but its precision and long-term reliability translate into fewer representations and fewer appeals, which more than makes up the difference.

Is it hard to install?

Quite the opposite: installation is straightforward and needs no server infrastructure, not even to calculate average speed.
