Solution 05 · Public safety

Public safety and police support

Smart technology to detect vehicles of police interest, support investigations and improve coordination between security forces.

The starting point

What lies behind the need

The devices installed in a municipality read the plates of the vehicles travelling through it every day. That information can also serve public safety, provided it reaches those on patrol or investigating in time.

That means being able to check that information against lists of vehicles of police interest, consult it when an investigation requires it and share it with nearby municipalities. Without those tools, surveillance remains fragmented.

Where it applies

  • Monitoring of restraining orders
  • Reconstructing the routes of crime suspects
  • Locating stolen vehicles
  • Clarifying hit-and-run accidents
  • Coordination between the local police forces of nearby municipalities

How CGi21 responds

A turnkey solution, not a supply contract

Our solutions allow police use, for investigation and operations: helping to monitor restraining orders, reconstructing the routes of crime suspects, locating stolen vehicles or clarifying hit-and-run accidents. Whenever one of these situations is detected, real-time alerts are sent to patrols or control centres.

They also allow coordination between councils or Local Police headquarters that are geographically close, by sharing data related to public safety, within the framework of collaboration between public authorities. This makes it easier to move from fragmented surveillance to a coordinated view of the territory, always within the applicable agreements, powers and regulations.

From detection to result

How it works, phase by phase

Every phase is covered and connected to the next, so the information moves forward without manual steps.

  1. 01

    Reading

The devices automatically read the plate of the vehicles travelling through the municipality.

  2. 02

    Checking

Each transit is compared with the list of vehicles of police interest.

  3. 03

    Alarm

If the plate is on the list, the platform raises an alarm every time the vehicle is captured by a device.

  4. 04

    Alert

The alert reaches the patrols or the control centre in real time.

  5. 05

    Look-up

The recorded data make it possible to search for a plate, or for a vehicle by its appearance, in the period defined.

  6. 06

    Coordination

Public safety data are shared with nearby municipalities, within the applicable agreements.

What it includes

Components adapted to each project

Every municipality starts from a different reality. The solution is therefore configured around its priorities, bringing in the components it needs and fitting the contracted scope.

  • 01

    Real-time alerts

Whenever a detection occurs, alerts are sent to patrols or control centres.

  • 02

    Plate look-up

Using the automated reading data, the council can look up any plate in the period it has defined, to find out whether a vehicle has travelled through the municipality, with the date, time and direction of travel.

  • 03

    Search by artificial intelligence

Vehicles can also be searched for by sequences, situations or the likely appearance of a vehicle, even when the full plate is not available.

Frequently asked questions

What we are usually asked

Do you need the full plate to search for a vehicle?

No. The search can also be carried out by sequences, situations or the likely appearance of the vehicle, using artificial intelligence tools.

What happens when a vehicle on a list of police interest is detected?

The platform raises an alarm every time the vehicle is captured by a device, and a real-time alert is sent to the patrols or the control centre.

Can the data be shared with other municipalities?

Yes, between councils or Local Police headquarters that are geographically close, within the framework of collaboration between public authorities and always within the applicable agreements, powers and regulations.
